I want to try out a new idea in the casual forums. It's no secret that johnnies and casual players like to try making bad cards work. So, once a day I will pick a random card from gatherer, then I will list it in this forum. Then everyone can post responses with cards or decklists that go well with the card of the day.

I would probably use the gauntlet for my version of Elfball. The elves help to get the gauntlet out on turn three or four. Then the elves get bigger from the gauntlet. And while your opponent is trying to fend off all of your elves, you finish them off with a big Fireball.

I also understand that there is a card that makes this one obsolete. But feel free to post a combo or decklist with this card if you think it is interesting. For example, maybe you have a deck that uses the combo Crusade + Meekstone + Kismet + Whim of Volrath.
I might add that doing so, makes for horribly long, drawn out games where nobody can make anything except 1/1 bird tokens. Except myself of course. lol

Boy this is a tough one. If you plan on casting this before the game is over, you'll probably either need ramp or a way to reduce the cost of thoughtweft gambit. After that, I would probably add lots of creatures that destroy tapped creatures like Royal Assassin or Stalking Assassin.

To me, it looks like a slightly more versatile version of Healing Salve. I'm having a tough time figuring out a use for this card. Since you can decide between whether to prevent 2 or 4 damage, maybe it would go well with a creature that you want to take some damage but not enough to kill it like Fungusaur.

Artful Dodge seems like it would work fairly well for him, or Whispersilk Cloak may be a better fit for continued draw and some evasion

Boy this is a tough one. If you plan on casting this before the game is over, you'll probably either need ramp or a way to reduce the cost of thoughtweft gambit. After that, I would probably add lots of creatures that destroy tapped creatures like Royal Assassin or Stalking Assassin.
Also, Turnabout fits right into the theme.
Timbermare works as another tap-down effect to combo with Angels or just beat face.

StaffThe card for 4/02/13 is Ray of Distortion.
Another tough one. Since you can use it twice, I would probably combine it with cards that can turn permanents into artifacts or enchantments.
